Celebrating the release of his new album, Art Kids from the Country: Volume 1, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Lucas Carpenter, along with Chapel Bell, brings his multi-instrumental folk-pop to the Birdhouse Center for the Arts!

Raised above a funeral home in rural Pennsylvania, Lucas Carpenter went on to graduate from Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music. After years of touring the country, he eventually landed in Nashville, TN. It was there in 2020 that he recorded & released his album The Shimmer, produced by Kevin Rooney (Rascal Flatts, Jason Crabb). The Shimmer was dubbed “Fun, jubilant pop” by Nashville’s #1 independent radio station Lighting 100, and it led to performances at Pilgrimage Music Festival & other iconic Nashville venues, such as The Listening Room. Carpenter and Rooney performed nearly every instrument on the album, blending Lucas’s love for world music - hammered dulcimer, penny whistle, and mandolin - with Kevin’s beat making & electronic skills. Lucas’s latest release, Art Kids from the Country: Volume 1, (2024) is an eclectic mix of pop storytelling, themed around growing up as a theater/artistic kid in rural America. This latest collection of songs was produced by one of Lucas’s heroes, Bleu, an LA-based producer with credits spanning from Demi Lovato to Meatloaf, from the Jonas Brothers to KT Tunstall.

A Nashville-native, Chapel Bell originally fell in love with performing through clogging (and has the National Champion trophies to prove it!). Her eclectic interests, including her bachelor's degree in Geology, are reflected not only by the venues she frequents, but also by her unique musical style, with many up-tempo songs accompanied by thoughtful lyrics. Often compared to classic artists like Joni Mitchell & Linda Ronstadt, Chapel has been a fixture on Nashville’s songwriter scene in recent years, regularly performing at venues like The 5 Spot, The Bowery Vault, & Sevier Park Fest.
